In the first 9 months of 2025, energy commodities trader and convenience store network Virši (AS VIRŠI-A and related Group companies) continued to show an increase in turnover, reaching EUR 297.7 million and represented a 2.9% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Turnover in the convenience stores increased by 9.5%, or EUR 4.1 million. Turnover in the fuel segment rose by 2.7%, or EUR 6.04 million, reaching EUR 230.4 million. In the energy segment, turnover decreased by 4.4%, or EUR 0.88 million, reaching EUR 19.3 million.
The third quarter was marked by several key events aligned with the Company’s strategic development:
- Progress of the biomethane plant construction: the biomethane production facility building works continued according to schedule. Major concrete works have been completed, and installation of biogas reactors and related equipment is actively underway. In parallel, necessary infrastructure is being developed and improved to ensure successful installation of biomethane production equipment and to prepare the site for subsequent project stages;
- New service station in Kuldīga: at the beginning of the third quarter, Virši commenced construction of a new facility in Kuldīga (western Latvia), with operations planned to begin in November 2025;
- Expansion of the EV charging network: during the third quarter, Virši installed a new 40 kW electric vehicle charging station at the Gulbene site, providing essential support in a region where charging options had previously been limited. The new charging station in Gulbene – as well as the entire Virši charging network – continues to demonstrate positive results, with increasing charging volumes and active use of loyalty programme benefits;
- Support for national defense initiatives: in the third quarter of 2025, Virši supported the National Armed Forces’ comprehensive defence exercise “Namejs 2025,” encouraging public engagement in strengthening national security. Service stations offered freshly roasted coffee in special National Guard-themed mugs under the slogan “My Latvia. My Responsibility,” and provided information about the exercises to raise public awareness of the importance of national defence and to reinforce patriotic values.
