The sale of shares has no negative impact on LATRAPS’ business operations or its ability to ensure grain exports, as agreements have been signed with other terminals in the Freeport of Riga, as well as in the ports of Ventspils and Liepāja. The shares in SIA “Alpha Osta,” which SIA “ASNS Investment” acquired in 2021, have now been bought out by the other shareholders of SIA “Alpha Osta.”
Upcoming LATRAPS Group development plans
The cooperative currently owns eight grain processing complexes across Latvia. To modernize infrastructure and increase storage capacity, it is planned that income from port sale will be invested in several complexes.
This summer, the construction of a solar park in Eleja was completed. In addition, by the end of the year, the cooperative will make significant investments in improving the facilities of its complexes and renewing laboratory equipment. In the coming years, the Jaunpagasts, Aizkraukle, and Jēkabpils complexes are planned to be modernized, with several development projects partially financed by European Union structural funds.
